LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man found dead in a car on Dobson Lane early Monday.

Police found the body of 27-year-old Nathen Esterday around 8:30 a.m. Oct. 12. Homicide detectives arrested 28-year-old Derick Anderson a few days later, around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 15.

Police say Anderson confessed to killing Esterday.

Esterday's family said he left his home in PRP Sunday night and never returned
. They believe he was robbed because his cell phone and ID were missing.

During a news conference Thursday morning, police said Esterday and Anderson knew each other and the shooting was over some sort of dispute.

"I know they knew each other," said Sgt. Emily McKinley. "As far as their relationship, I don't know details as far as how long they knew each other or how well they knew each other."

Esterday's girlfriend says Anderson was a longtime friend of Nathen's, and she was surprised to hear the news of his arrest.

Esterday's mom, Nesjha Seaton, says her son was a good person and she's happy to know someone will pay for his death.

"I am so happy they found someone," Seaton said. "It just makes me feel a lot of relief."

Anderson is charged with one count of murder. He's being held on a $250,000 full cash bond.
