LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested three people after a cashier was shot during a robbery attempt at an Oldham County convenience store early Friday.

According to Oldham County Sgt. James Brown, it happened around 2 a.m. at the Thorntons on Highway 146, just off exit 17 on Interstate 71 in Buckner.

Police say the man who shot the clerk was 28-year-old Douglas A. Orr from Pleasureville entered the store wearing a black mask and argued with the cashier before firing a shot that struck the cashier in the leg. He then left the store with no money or merchandise and got into a car believed to have been driven by 47-year-old John Manning from LaGrange.

"A short time later we were contacted by someone who wanted to give us information about the incident," Brown said.

Acting on that tip, the Oldham County Police Multi-Agency Special Response Team found Orr in a Best Western hotel in LaGrange around 8 a.m. A woman in the room with Orr -- Holly Bardis -- was arrested on an unrelated charge. Police do not believe Bardis had any knowledge of Orr's alleged involvement in the robbery attempt.

Police arrested Manning at another location a short time later.

Orr is charged with robbery, assault and receiving stolen property -- the gun used in the shooting.

Manning is charged with complicity to robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in Louisville. Officials from Thorntons Corporate released a written statement that said the gunshot wound was "minor" and that the employee had been treated and released from the hospital.
