LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A million dollars. That's how much a man will need to get out of jail after police say he beat his ex-girlfriend's 3-year-old son.

The suspect, 23-year-old Steven Wright, turned himself in to police early Thursday morning. On Friday he pleaded not guilty to assault, child abuse, and wanton endangerment. The boy's mother says Wright -- now her ex-boyfriend -- beat her son when he was babysitting for her Sunday morning.

The boy had bruises all over his body.

The judge ordered Wright to have no contact with the child or his mother.
