50-year-old man accused of impregnating teen

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- She is 14 and he is 50, but he says they're in love. Eugene Hunt is now locked up at the Hardin County Detention Center for their relationship.

According to authorities, the alleged victim is now 14-years-old and 3 months pregnant with Hunt's child.

"Clearly wrong, especially based on the child's age," said Teresa Logsdon, Hardin County Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney.

Prosecutors say it was wrong, but Hunt says it was love.

Logsdon said, "This case was brought to my attention back in August, when the arrest first took place."

According to an arrest citation, Hunt and a girl "had sexual intercourse approximately 10 times."

"My understanding is that he had lost his job and had moved in with this family," said Hunt.

Kentucky State Police got involved after the child's mother went to the E-town post and reported the crime.

"He is charged with 4 counts of unlawful transactions with a minor, three counts of rape in the second degree, one count of sodomy in the 2nd degree," explained Logsdon.

Not only is the 14-year-old girl pregnant, but the case against Hunt is pretty strong.

"We have good evidence, we have good statements, obviously, there is a pregnancy that is involved in this particular case so I expect to have DNA evidence," Logsdon explained.

According to court documents, Hunt doesn't deny the relationship, in fact, he even says he's in love with the alleged victim and "would marry her right now and take care of her and the unborn child." But that too is problematic.

"It is my understanding that he is married at this time," said Logsdon.

Eugene Hunt is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday morning. That's when he will answer the charges against him.
