LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The physical challenges continue for former University of Louisville guard Kevin Ware.

According to Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Ware suffered a high ankle sprain in practice at Georgia State and will miss an undisclosed amount of time.

Ware transferred to Georgia State last spring after playing only 53 minutes in nine games for U of L last season. Georgia State, located in Atlanta, is near Ware's home in Conyers, Ga.

Ware started his U of L career in 2011. He suffered a compound fracture to his right leg during Louisville's victory over Duke in the 2013 Midwest Regional in Indianapolis. He is expected to start in the Georgia State backcourt this season.

The NCAA granted Ware a wavier of immediate eligibility at Georgia State. He will play two seasons for the Panthers, who open their season against Tennessee Temple Nov. 14.

Ware and former Kentucky guard Ryan Harrow are also scheduled to play IUPUI in Indianapolis on Nov. 29. Jeremy Hollowell, who played two seasons at Indiana, also transferred to Georgia State, but Hollowell must sit out this season.
