JCPS bus collides with ambulance in west Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A JCPS school bus was involved in a crash with an ambulance Wednesday afternoon.

According to EMS spokeswoman Kristen Miller, it happened around 3 p.m. at 20th and Main.

Miller says the ambulance was on an emergency run with its lights and siren activated when bus #0734, which not loaded and was approaching the intersection as the light was "in the process of changing," clipped the rear of the ambulance. The driver of the ambulance served to avoid the bus, and rolled over on its side.

The bus had just finished dropping off students on its route. The driver of the bus was unhurt and refused treatment.

Both EMS workers in the ambulance were taken to University Hospital to be checked out.

JCPS spokesman Ben Jackey confirmed that no students were hurt and that "everybody's OK."
