LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new mobile kitchen is rolling through the Smoketown neighborhood.

Unveiled today, The Thorobread Nutrition Kitchen is a mobile market with a commercial kitchen that will provide nutrition education throughout the city.

It's designed to help alleviate food deserts in urban areas.

Developed by Kentucky State University the truck brings fresh local foods into the community.

"We provide those foods and at the same time we provide education on which foods to choose and how to actually prepare those foods in a healthy manner for the families," said Chris Grimes of Kentucky State University.

The truck is staffed by members of Youth Build Louisville which will allow the students to learn business skills in addition to proper nutrition.
