LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing several charges after police say he backed into a police vehicle and tried to run away.

According to the arrest report, the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the 1100 block of Bardstown Road near the Mid City Mall. That's where police say 22-year-old Montez Offutt was backing out of a parking lot when he struck a police vehicle, then got out of his car and took off running.

Police ordered Offutt to stop, but he refused.

Officers caught up with Offutt at the intersection of Baxter and Lucia. After searching Offutt's car, officers found "a large amount of marijuana and a digital scale."

Offutt now faces several charges, including trafficking in marijuana, fleeing or evading police, hit and run, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
