LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police officers have arrested a woman for allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Kohl's store.

Santanna Beasley was arrested Saturday afternoon, one day before her 26th birthday, after police say she stole items totaling $1,051 from the Kohl's store located at 110 Oxmoor Lane, near the Oxmoor Center.

Police records state that Beasley placed items into a shopping cart and walked past cash registers and out onto the store's sidewalk, without paying for the merchandise.

Police say store security observed Beasley taking the items on surveillance video and detained her until officers arrived.

Police have charged Beasley with theft.
