Number of registered voters increases in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - More than 3.1 million Kentuckians are registered to vote in the November 4 general election. 

That's an increase of about 42,000 people, or about 1.5 percent, compared to the primary election in May. 

Both Democrats and Republicans have gained in registration numbers.

Currently about 54 percent of voters are registered Democrat and 39 percent are Republicans. About eight percent are independent voters or are registered with a minor party.
