LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A convicted killer has been found dead in prison.

Correction officials say the man convicted of shooting a fellow Purdue University student has died from an apparent suicide.

Cody Cousins was found unresponsive Tuesday night. Officials say it appears he cut himself on his neck and arms.

The 24-year-old was sentenced to 65 years in prison last month.

He was being held in a single cell at a prison in Michigan City.

Cousins pleaded guilty to murdering fellow Purdue University student Andrew Boldt on campus in January.
