Elderly, low income residents of Jeffersonville's Riverside Meadows being forced to move

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Elderly and low income Jeffersonville neighbors are being forced out of their home because of trouble with the landlord.

The city denied Riverside Meadows a special zoning permit, meaning its residents must move.

City leaders say the owners of the shared living facility tried to use its vulnerable clients as a pawn in their appeal.

Officials say Riverside Meadows illegally moved about a dozen people in after the city rejected its first zoning application. The owners tell WDRB, they may take the case to court.

The city plans to fine the facility and work with adult protective services to find them new homes before starting eviction proceedings.
