Dad makes ultimate Halloween costume for son in wheelchair

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --A Fort Collins, Colorado dad makes his son the ultimate Halloween costume.

Jake Schell has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and is confined to a wheelchair.

When Jake was younger, his parents would carry him from door-to-door for Halloween.

Trick-or-treating is more difficult now that Jake is six years old.

So, Jake's step-dad has stepped up and turned Jake's wheelchair into a tank.

"Most people who are in our situation, try to do what they can for their kids to make Halloween special since it's not quite the same for them," said Andy Gregory, Jake's step-dad.

Last year, Jake rode around town in a firetruck, and the year before that, in a pirate ship.

His family says it takes 20-30 hours to build the costume.
