LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Volunteer opportunities for students and young adults were easy to come by Sunday in Louisville.

The first annual Service Learning Fair was held at Anshei Shard on Dutchmans Lane.

Nearly 15 local businesses set up tables to attract volunteers.

Business leaders say it's a great way for young people to learn the life-long value of servant leadership.

"We're looking for young adults and teenagers to come together to learn about the benefits of service learning and how connecting to a local non-profit can not only benefit he community but themselves," said Karyn Moskowitz, executive director of New Roots.

Businesses in attendance included the Louisville Zoo, Actors Theater of Louisville and the Dare to Care Food Bank.

The fair welcomed volunteers of all ages, preaching the value of service in the community for everyone.
