Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman indicted

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman has been indicted on charges of official misconduct and tampering with physical evidence, according to official documents.

Sheriff Kinman is currently seeking re-election as Carroll County Sheriff.

Sheriff Kinman was involved in an investigation conducted by Kentucky State Police, after he was accused of retaliation by James Shaw, a Carroll County Sheriff's Deputy.

"I think the timing is a little strange that it would just happen to happen the day before election," said long-time Carroll County resident Ed Gex Williams.

Williams told WDRB he's known Sheriff Kinman for years and doesn't want to jump to conclusions based on the indictment.

"I, like everyone else, have heard rumors but I'm not going to change my thinking of the sheriff either way until I hear the final results. I personally don't have any reason to believe his character is anything but stellar," said Williams.
