LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Shelbyville Fire Department and the Shelby County Fire Department contained a barn fire that started to spread Monday evening.

The fire started on property at the corner of Mount Eden Road and Hooper Station Road.

According to Shelby County dispatch, the fire was first reported just before 7 p.m. in a barn located on the property. A dispatcher said the blaze spread to the field on the property.

Dispatch told WDRB the fire departments were concerned more small structures on the same property were involved. Both departments remained on scene Monday night until the blaze was contained.

Hooper Station Road was shut down to help fight the fire, but it has since reopened.
