LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's top librarian has finished the story of his career.

Louisville Free public Library director Craig Buthod is retiring. He's been on the job since 1998.

Buthod is credited with helping the library transform to meet the needs of the community, including adding more computers and new technology tools.

He's also been involved in the development of the library's master plan to help it meet state standards and expanding hours of service.

A search for a new library director will begin immediately.
