New York play "The Erlkings" depicts the Columbine massacre

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A real-life school massacre is making its way to the stage in New York City.

The play -- 15 years after the Columbine shooting -- recounts the days leading up to the murders. The play is titled "The Erlkings," and is taken from a German poem found in the journal of one of the killers.

The controversial play is told from the perspective of the two teen shooters, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, as they plan one of the most horrific killing sprees in U.S. history.

Thirteen people were killed and more than 20 others were hurt. Some of the victims' families say the play only furthers violence in our culture.
