Sacred Heart Schools hold annual holiday drive

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Sacred Heart Schools are helping to provide a Merry Christmas to some West Virginia families.

The schools' Community Awareness Committee held its annual drive to bring in toys, gifts and clothes for families in need.

School officials say the drive's success has been a joint effort.

"So everyone comes together. They donate gifts. We have monetary donations. And currently we have 2,505 gifts from the Academy alone. It's a really tremendous effort from every school on campus and I couldn't be more grateful for all the help I've had from every member of the CAC this year," said Ashley Depriest, a teacher at Sacred Heart Academy.

The drive helps provide gifts to more than 100 families and more than 300 children every year.

This is the 20th year the group has held the drive.
