JEFFERSONVILLE, In. (WDRB) -- More boxes are being taped down and riding along conveyor belts as the holiday season approaches. In order to meet the online demand, the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Jeffersonville, Indiana is looking to hire additional seasonal employees.

“Day and night positions paying up to 13 dollars an hour,” said Recruiting Process Manager Karen Duling with Integrity Staffing.

A few thousand workers will be hired through Integrity Staffing. Amazon is offering a couple hundred dollars in incentives to attractive the workers.

“The job market has changed where not as many people are out looking for jobs now and we realize that, that were competing against a lot of places that are hiring and we want to treat our employees very well,” said Duling.

Potential employees must apply by Saturday, November 15th to be eligible for the $200 signing bonus, weekly $100 perfect attendance bonus, and $200 referral bonus. Employees will be paid out after working 120 hours.

“In about four weeks maybe after they start, which should be right in time for the holidays,” said Duling.

The timing couldn't be more perfect for Lyndi Patterson.

“I have a child, a step child, and one on the way so it's great during the holidays. It's going to work out good,” said Patterson.

No high school diploma or GED is required. Employees will be based in an apparel warehouse.

The seasonal jobs do have the potential to become permanent.

“If you're on time, you show up for work, you work hard, you hit the numbers that they give you for the goals, then you have a really good chance of being converted,” said Duling.

Most positions will end in January after the rush in holiday returns.
