CRAWFORD | UK, U of L won't learn football game time until this weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're waiting to plan out your Thanksgiving weekend based on when the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky will play their annual football rivalry game, you'll have to wait a little longer.

The teams have known all season that they would play on Saturday, Nov. 29. Generally, ESPN would've made a call on the game time for that matchup today, but because it wants to see which games are the most meaningful, it won't decide until after Saturday's games have been played.

The ACC put the word out in its regular Monday TV announcement, saying that UK-U of L was one of five games involving league schools on a "six-day hold" from the television network.

If you're planning a party around it, watch for the news Saturday night. ESPN should make a call after all of Saturday's games have been completed. The schools themselves don't have a say in the game times, and don't have any insight into where the games will be placed by ESPN.

Other matchups still waiting to learn when they will be played are South Carolina at Clemson, Wake Forest at Duke, Florida at Florida State and Pittsburgh at Miami.
