LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Newly released police tapes reveal more about a Labor Day weekend murder where a woman's fiancé is accused of shooting and killing her son.

"There was a disagreement and a gun was brought out and went off accidentally," Judy Felker said in a phone call to 911.

"Someone was shot?" The Dispatcher asked.

"Yes"

"Okay, who was shot?" Continued the dispatcher.

"My son," Felker replied.

It's the night 37-year-old Michael Felker was fatally shot at his mother's home on Sky Blue Avenue in PRP.

His mother Judy Felker lives there with her fiancé, 72-year-old George Geary, who is the accused shooter.

Geary told detectives how the argument started and how the shooting was an accident.

"At the time, I didnt' know he was mad at me and the reason was his mother had sent him a text telling him to bring back our credit card," Geary said.

"He had spent $6,000 on my credit card," Judy Felker added.

Geary told police the argument got heated and admitted to grabbing his loaded gun from his dresser.

"He says you're not going to threaten me and I went into my room and got my gun and had no intention of shooting anybody. Just I want you to leave my home Michael," Geary said.

He told police his gun went off by accident and he didn't even realize he shot Michael Felker in the shoulder.

Felker was later pronounced dead at University Hospital.

"I really don't think he meant to shoot him," Judy Felker said. "I really dont."

Geary is charged with murder.

He has pleaded not guilty.
