Swope Toyota donates engines to Hardin County High School automotive classes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some local students studying automotive technology are receiving hands-on training, made possible by a local dealership.

The Swope Family of Dealerships donated two training engines to Hardin County School's Early College and Career Center. The engines are valued at more than $5,000.

Automotive technology is a new career pathway being offered to Hardin County Schools students this year.

All sections of the classes are full because of high student and community business interest.

"What we hope to accomplish here is just giving back to the community and giving back to our local students in order to keep them here locally and have productive careers," said Cole Miller, with Swope Toyota.

The Early College and Career Center opened in August.
