City of Louisville launches new, redesigned website

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro Louisville promises an easier time finding information and services that citizens need.

On Tuesday, city officials launched a new, redesigned website that's easier to access on a desktop, smartphone or tablet -- the website automatically re-sizes for a user's device.

The redesign has been live for several weeks, but the city held a kick-off ceremony for the new website Tuesday morning at Metro Hall.

LouisvilleKY.gov allows residents to track crime in neighborhoods, reserve a parking meter, track snow crews plowing roads, or even license pets.

"Just a few years ago in 2010, only 6.5 percent of visitors to our city site were using tablets or smartphones. Today, that number is 53 percent and growing very, very rapidly," said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.

City officials say they will continue to make improvements to the site, which has been ranked among the best city websites in the country by the Center for Digital Government.
