LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man who is a registered sex offender for engaging in sexual abuse at a Louisville apartment complex.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place on Nov. 22, at an apartment complex on S. 4th St., near Central Avenue.

Police say a woman who was wearing her arm in a sling due to a recent shoulder injury was walking up a flight of stairs at the complex, when 60-year-old Lawrence T. Sharp approached her and fondled her.

Both Sharp and the victim lived in the apartment complex, according to the arrest report.

Police say Sharp had already served 20 years in prison for a similar sex offense and is a lifetime registered sex offender.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on Tuesday, Nov. 25, and he was taken into custody later that day. He is charged with first degree sex abuse.
