LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A deputy coroner has identified the woman found dead in a vehicle outside the Breckinridge County jail Saturday afternoon.

Paula Gail Hall, age 31, was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a deputy coroner and the Breckinridge County Sheriff's office.

Breckinridge County Sheriff, Todd Pate, said, "But whether of not that was accidental or intentional act on her part we're not certain at this time."

The sheriff's department received a call from the county jail Saturday afternoon. That's where they found 31-year old Paula Hall dead in the passenger seat of a car.

"Anytime we have something like this especially on county owned property or any suicide for that matter we always want to make sure we investigate it to the fullest," said Pat.

Coroner Tim Bandy, said, "Any coroner's call is a tragedy for somebody and so it's tough sometimes."

The sheriff says Hall was waiting in the car when Rita Knight went inside the jail to visit her boyfriend. The jailer tells us Knight was visiting Michael Beck. The 51-year old has been in jail since June for trafficking a controlled substance.

Pate said, "At this time I'm not aware of any relationship that there was between the two but I said there are other things being looked at."

Right now no charges have been filed. The sheriff will present the case to the commonwealth attorney.

"At this time I don't see anything becoming of this but that could change as the investigation continues," said Pate.

Police say the preliminary investigation does not suggest foul play.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
