Thousands of dollars worth of adult novelties stolen from lingerie store

LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- Thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen from a Louisville lingerie boutique on Thanksgiving.

It happened at the Adam & Eve store in the 3800 block of south Hurtsbourne Parkway. The owner of the store, Tina Weis, told WDRB that the suspects cut the power at the back of the building, meaning none of the surveillance cameras were working at the time of the theft.

"They pretty much ransacked my store for a little while," she said.

The thief or thieves left empty shelves and hooks, a busted computer and a broken door lock.

"It was calculated. It was planned. Normally when people come in here, they're not going to try to drill the lock out. They don't think about that stuff. It was well planned out. They knew where our high-end stuff was so they've staked us out for a while," she added.

Weis says the suspects stole thousands of dollars worth of high-end adult novelties along with the cash drawer.

The only pictures her surveillance cameras were able to capture are of the car the alleged thieves were driving.

It looks like a black four-door but Weis says she can't see the make or the license plate number.

"As soon as they cut my power, my cameras were done. It didn't record anything else so we're checking with the surrounding businesses to see if they caught anything on their cameras," Weis said.

Weis told WDRB police don't have any suspects and she isn't sure who would target her store.

"I don't want to think it was a former employee, considering we did just let one go but you just never know nowadays. People just get desperate and do desperate things," she said.
