LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An official at a public relations company has confirmed that a new restaurant could soon be opening on the site of the recently closed Tumbleweed in Waterfront Park.

The Falls City Hospitality Group plans to open the restaurant by spring. Officials said the waterfront restaurant will be Mexican-themed.

Officials tell WDRB that lease negotiations are underway.

According to the Waterfront Development Corp., the former tenant, Tumbleweed Tex-Mex Grill and Margarita Bar at Waterfront Park owed the agency about $30,000 in rent.

The Falls City Hospitality Group also operates Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar on West Main Street in downtown Louisville.
