LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A radio legend celebrates his last show on a local station.

Many country music stars will be in town Wednesday night for a concert at the KFC Yum! Center in Coyote Calhoun's honor. Coyote has been with 97.5 WAMZ for 35 years.

He could be found downtown Wednesday for his last broadcast near the KFC Yum! Center.

Fans were stopping by to meet him and say thanks, as well as sign up for a chance to win tickets for the concert.

He says retirement has not sunk in. "A 35 year run, no one really thinks of a run like that," said Calhoun. "So it was like I always say, always better to leave a couple years early instead of a couple years too late, health's still good, got to do it now."

Calhoun will still make special appearances after his retirement.

Wednesday night's concert is sold out and features artists like Toby Keith, Little Big Town, Chris Young, Jake Owen, Montgomery Gentry, among many others.

Calhoun says on his first day off, he will start his retirement by sleeping in, especially after having such a big party at the Yum! Center.
