LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have identified a suspect they say was captured on video going to multiple houses to steal mail.

Joseph Lee Carr, 47, was arrested by LMPD on Thursday night at his home in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue, between Sharp Avenue and South Street, near 7th Street Road.

Police received video of one of the thefts from a victim. Police say the video shows Carr getting out of a black Honda Civic and going to various houses and to steal mail.

WDRB News released the footage from police, and officials said they received a tip that Carr was the person responsible for the thefts.

Official police records state that there is a second video that captures Carr committing the same crime.

Police say they found "numerous amounts" of stolen mail and other property that matched addresses that were reported as part of the thefts.

Authorities also say they found marijuana and a crack pipe in Carr's vehicle.

Police have charged Carr with receiving stolen property, mail theft and marijuana possession.
