Six Kentuckiana Post Offices Open Sundays Dec. 14 & 21
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- To help avoid the long lines and get a jump on early bird shipping, select Post Office retail operations throughout Kentuckiana will open on two Sundays -- Dec. 14 and 21 -- leading up to Christmas Day.
“It's that time of year again but there's no need to stress about the holidays this season,” said Kentuckiana District Manager Elizabeth Schaefer. “We are making it easier for our customers to send their greeting cards and packages by being open on Sunday at select locations.”

The following Post Office retail locations will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 21:
Bowling Green General Mail Facility, 5300 Road
Clarksville IN Station, 757 E. Lewis & Clark Parkway
Evansville IN Lawndale Station, 802 S. Green River Road
Lexington Bluegrass Station, 3525 Lansdowne Drive
Louisville Okolona Station, 7400 Jefferson Blvd.
Louisville St. Matthews Station, 4600 Shelbyville Road
Monday, Dec. 15 is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the season for cards, letters and packages when more than 607 million pieces of mail will be processed nationwide on that day alone; Wednesday, Dec. 17 will be the busiest delivery day for cards and letters. Thursday, Dec. 18 will be the busiest delivery day for packages.
The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses; it relies entirely on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
