LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The owner of a dog with a massive, untreated tumor on its leg faces a new charge.

Frankie Shields appeared in court for animal cruelty and failure to provide treatment.

He has now been charged with failure to provide necessities for animals as well.

His dog "Moonpie" carried a four pound tumor on its leg until the Arrow Fund rescued her and paid to have it removed.

Investigators say Shields never sought medical treatment for the dog.

The court entered not guilty pleas on the charges.
