New Albany police to return four Humvees to the military

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The New Albany Police Department is giving back some of its manpower.

The department plans to return four Humvees to the military. They were given at no cost under a Pentagon program that equips local police with surplus military weapons.

The plan was to use them in bad weather, but they've never been used.

Chief Todd Bailey says that happened before he was on the job and he found the department doesn't need them.
