Pedestrians hit by concrete mixing truck at 12th and Broadway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were hit by a concrete mixing truck in downtown Louisville Thursday morning.

It happened at approximately 11:30 this morning at the corner of 12th St. and Broadway.

Emergency crews worked to free one woman. She was trapped under the driver's side tire of the truck for a short time. We're told her injuries are serious, but that she will survive.

A second woman was hurt, but suffered only minor injuries.

Police say the pair were crossing Broadway in the crosswalk. They were hit as the truck was turning. Investigators say the driver failed to yield the right-of-way.

The truck belonged to the Advance Ready-Mix Concrete Company. It's the same company being sued for a fatal accident at the foot of the Second Street Bridge earlier this year.
