LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The prosecutor in Harrison County, Indiana says a teacher has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student.

Kellen Hubert, 28, was arrested on a charge of child seduction. Hubert is a social studies and journalism teacher, as well as coach, at Corydon Central Junior High School.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the relationship with the 16-year-old student occurred during the month of November at the school.

The affidavit states that the student's mother called police after allegedly finding a "large amount" of text messages on her cell phone bill to and from her daughter and Hubert. School officials turned over records from Hubert's phone bill that contained records identical to what was found in the student's cell phone.

Police executed a search warrant and uncovered hundreds of messages between Hubert and the student beginning on Nov. 25 at 7:19 a.m. and ending at 12:14 a.m. the following morning.

According to the affidavit, the preliminary search of Hubert's phone indicates the text messages had been "intentionally deleted from his message stream."

During interviews, the student told police that the two engaged in sexual acts on several occasions, including once in the concession stand after normal school hours. A review of surveillance footage confirmed that Hubert entered the concession stand after school hours just before the student, and was then seen exiting the concession stand about an hour later.

Surveillance footage showed Hubert using a cell phone before entering and after exiting the concession stand.

Officials have begun the process of dismissal for Hubert.

He has been released on a $10,000 cash bond.

His trial is expected to begin in March.
