Historic Union Clock restored

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Time keeps on ticking for an historic clock once used at Louisville's Union Station.

The mechanical clock kept time for travelers from 1905 until the late 1970s. The clock was later found in pieces in storage by Marcus Greer, who was working on the building's air conditioning.

His family kept them until 2011 when they donated the pieces to the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.

That group restored the clock to its former glory.

"TARC has agreed to build this beautiful, so everyone could see it. The only person who saw it in the tower was the guy who wound it."

The clock was dedicated today at TARC's new customer service center inside Union Station.
