LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)—An eight-day break from games was apparently pretty good for the U of L women's basketball team. They jumped out to a quick lead on Old Dominion and kept extending the lead in a 100-46 blow out of the Lady Monarchs.
U of L was coming off its first loss of the season when Kentucky rallied from a big second-half deficit on December 7th at the KFC Yum! Center.Monday night's home crowd was treated not only to ugly Christmas sweater night, including a colorful Cardinal effort from coach Jeff Walz, but they saw the Lady Cardinals rolling on all cylinders.
"We played the best I think we've played all year," said Walz.
The box score was filled with positive numbers.
Louisville hit 52 % from the field and made 9-of-14 threes. They outrebounded Old Dominion 59-30 and added 25 assists and 11 steals. The Lady Cardinals led 54-19 at halftime against a team that came into the game 5-2.
