Indiana crews using tow plows to treat roads this winter

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Indiana has a new tool to clean up the mess on the roads this winter.

It's not your typical snow plow. It's a tow plow.

The Indiana Department of Transportation will be using seven of them throughout the state.

A tow plow is pulled behind an INDOT yellow truck allowing two lanes to be cleared at once.

Officials say the tow plows will clear the roads at safe speeds of 35 to 45 miles per hour depending on conditions.
