LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than a month after the election, there's still no winner for the office of Meade County Clerk.
A judge recently disqualified the elected winner -- Democrat Susan Masterson after a voter filed a lawsuit claiming Masterson is a convicted felon and not allowed to hold office. In 1993, Masterson pleaded guilty to embezzling $5,000 from the bank where she worked.
Masterson argued it was a misdemeanor, not a felony, but the judge disagreed. Masterson is appealing that ruling.
Until that appeal is over, the Meade County attorney has instructed the Board of Elections to not certify a winner.
