LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- College students are wrapping up final exams and getting rid of their un-needed textbooks, creating demand for seasonal employees at a Shepherdsville warehouse.

The end of the fall semester is the busiest time of year for textbook rental company Chegg. The California-based company processes returns and fulfills orders in their Shepherdsville warehouse.

This December, Chegg is hiring 1,500 seasonal workers at its Shepherdsville location. According to Vice President of Operations Eric Williams, they still have about 1,000 positions to fill.

"We have such a sense of urgency because we have to get these books in in a timely manner in order for them to go back out in January and be available for our students,' he said.

Seasonal employees process returns and put books back on the shelf so that they are ready to go for the start of the spring semester in January.

According to Williams, there are 35 year-round employees at the Bullitt County location.

Seasonal hiring will continue through the second week of January.

"It doesn't require a certain skill, but just a willingness to work hard is what we're looking for," said David Rock of Kelly Services.

Kelly Services is the employment agency tasked with finding the company seasonal employees.

According to the hiring website, seasonal employees will earn $10.50 to $11 an hour, with a variety of shifts available. Some assignments will last through February 2015.

To apply for a seasonal job at Chegg, you can either apply online through Kelly Services, or show up in person at 395 Paroquet Springs Drive, Shepherdsville, Ky. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
