Clarksville man turns Christmas decorations into food pantry donations

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - It's not a Christmas fundraiser.

It's a Christmas FOODraiser.

With more than 4,000 Christmas decorations set up inside, Rich Everhart has been offering tours of his home in Clarksville, Ind. for the last three years.

And he does it for a good cause.

Admission inside is a non-perishable food item.

All items collected will then be given to the Franciscan Kitchen, which will be serving needy families on Christmas Day.

"I decorate every year," Everhart said. "And everything that's donated I take to the kitchen and we use that to supplement other stuff that's been donated."

If you'd like to see inside and support the food kitchen  another open house will be held tomorrow from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 3165 Taylor Drive in Clarksville.
