LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Santa came early for some families on Sunday.

St. Vincent de Paul invited parents to choose free, unwrapped Christmas gifts for their children.

The downtown Louisville location had more than 150 volunteers to distribute toys, clothes and other gifts.

"It's an opportunity for families that are challenged economically to come and make selections for their kids and clothing, sports kids, all different categories," said Ed Wnorowski, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul.

"It truly allows them to have a personal Christmas for their child."

The 18th annual Santa Shop happened with the help of Toys for Tots, which provided more than 75 percent of the toys.

Officials with Saint Vincent de Paul say the program will help about 360 pre-screened families this year.
