Salvation Army coffers coming up short as Christmas approaches

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The bells are still ringing at the iconic red kettles in Kentuckiana, but it looks like the Salvation Army is coming up short of its goal.

Officials say the Red Kettle Campaign has raised nearly $320,000 so far, but that's well under its goal of $400,000.Even so, Salvation Army officials say they're still encouraged because this year's goal is higher than last year's.

The campaign ends on Christmas Eve.
