LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is accused of getting her daughter to help her steal items from a local Kmart.

According to the arrest report, it happened Dec. 22 around 6:15 p.m. at the Kmart located at 4025 Poplar Level Road. Police say 35-year-old Theresa Garner spent two hours in the store with her 11-year-old daughter. According to the arrest report, loss prevention officers watched Garner as she placed several items in her cart.

She was also seen selecting a suitcase, and then stuffing clothing in the suitcase before having her daughter leave the store with it. Loss prevention officers stopped the woman's daughter just outside the entrance.

After Garner's daughter left the store, police say she continued to push her cart full of clothes for another 10 minutes, then left the cart near the front entrance and walked out with merchandise in her purse, making no attempt to pay for the items.

She was stopped by loss prevention officers outside the store. The merchandise she allegedly attempted to steal was valued at $504.76.

Garner was arrested and is facing one charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500.
