LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police say they arrested a man for stealing multiple items from his employer.

Daniel Shaw, 30, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of Industry Road, near South 7th Street. According to the official police report, Shaw stole items that totaled $1,268.

Authorities said that Shaw was employed with YouthBuild Louisville, which is located at 800 South Preston Street.

Police say Shaw gave them a taped statement, in which he admitted to giving an unidentified male the location of YouthBuild Louisville and the code to the alarm system. Police records indicate that the unidentified suspect then proceeded to enter the business and steal items.

LMPD says Shaw also admitted to them that he went to two Louisville pawn shops and pawned a compressor worth $300 and a saw that was worth $968. Officials also say Shaw used a vehicle belonging to YouthBuild Louisville to travel to both pawn shops. Police say the vehicle is still "outstanding."

Investigators say Shaw also told them he attempted to pawn other stolen property, but that no pawn shop would buy the merchandise. Officials say Shaw told them he does not know the current location of the stolen property.

Shaw is charged with burglary and multiple counts of receipt of stolen property. He is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
