Fort Knox seeks public comments on restructuring

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Before the base makes any more cutbacks, Fort Knox officials will hold a public meeting to allow residents to comment on the negative effects of restructuring.

The “Community Listening Session” will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center in Elizabethtown. The forum will seek comments on things that need to be considered when making decisions regarding “force reductions and restructuring.”

The reorganization of the Army's force will require a reduction of at least 40,000 active duty soldiers.

This event will be the first of 30 similar sessions that will take place through March of 2015.
