LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Kentucky's first true road game of the season came against may be the best team they'll play all season. And after a lackluster first half, the Cats' undefeated record will march on into conference play.

The Cats took a four-point lead into the break and wore down Louisville in the second half en route to a 58-50 victory at the KFC Yum! Center on Saturday.

Louisville shot just 26 percent from the floor, their second-worst shooting performance of the season. The Cards had just one assist on 15 made field goals.

Kentucky, the nation's second-best scoring defense team in the country, forced the Cardinals into contested shots throughout the game.

U of L's National Player of the Year candidate Montrezl Harrell was held well below his season average with nine points on 4-9 shooting.

The rivals combined for 27 turnovers, two-thirds of which were committed by Kentucky.

Freshman guard Tyler Ulis led the Cats with 14 points on 5-8 shooting.

Louisville (11-1) will finish non-conference play on Tuesday when they host Long Beach State University.

Kentucky has 10 days off before they open SEC play against the University of Mississippi at Rupp Arena.
