LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were hit by a car on Dixie Highway near Pendleton Road at approximately 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Police now say an 18-year-old and a 6-year-old were the hit by a Ford Focus.

LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley had previously said an adult male and a 10-year-old child were hit.

Witnesses told police the pedestrians were crossing with the light and had the right of way when they were struck.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old female, remained at the scene. She has not been charged and investigators say they don't suspect drug or alcohol involvement.

Traffic division is not taking the case. According to Smiley that indicates the injuries are probably not life-threatening.

The adult male was taken to University of Louisville Hospital and the child was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital, both with non life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the two victims are neighbors and not family.
