RADCLIFF, Ky. (WDRB) -- The front window of the Evangel World Prayer Center in Radcliff is now boarded up after a weekend break-in. It was the fourth time criminals targeted a local church in less than a week.

"Soon as they pulled up, they noticed the big hole in the glass," Pastor Steve Cardwell said about the damage discovered Sunday morning.

Cardwell says a laptop, ceremonial sword and cash were stolen from the church.

"Could have been anywhere from 300-400 dollars and that money is used for, we do different community events, helping people, feeding people, different things like that," Cardwell told WDRB News.

The burglary comes after three other Radcliff church break-ins on Tuesday, Dec. 23. In those cases, cash was also taken. The three churches are all really close to each other and less than three miles away from the Evangel World Prayer Center.

Police will not say it they think the incidents are related, but Pastor Cardwell believes they are.

Cardwell says his daughter and another church member may have seen something suspicious the day before the break-in. He says two male teens started walking toward the woods as cars pulled into the church parking lot.

"They said one of the young men was carrying what looked like a BB gun," Cardwell said.

Photos taken after the break in show holes in the glass and Pastor Cardwell says there were BB pellets left behind too. He now plans to upgrade security at the church and go to the community for help catching those responsible.

"We can go door to door like we do about events," Cardwell said. "We can do the same thing and plaster the area with flyers and just ask people, 'Hey look if you've seen anything, just call the police and let them know."

Pastor Cardwell says the bingo hall next door was also burglarized.

Radcliff Police say all of the church break-ins remain under investigation.

If you have any information about those responsible, you're asked to call (270)-351-TIPS.
