Coroner identifies body found in home on Dumesnil Street
On Tuesday morning, Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley told WDRB News that the body was found at a home on Dumesnil Street, near S. 32nd Street, with obvious trauma to his body. Police arrived shortly after 11 a.m., after Smiley said someone reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Police believe a suspect is still on the loose.
The coroner's office says Stoudemire died of a gunshot wound.
Shortly after Stoudemire's body was discovered, dozens of family members and friends arrived at the scene.
Retired teacher Earlie Stoudemire, Jr. is one of them. He said yesterday that the victim is his son.
"I want to know what happened, whose house it was and why is he shot, and why is he dead," he said. "I mean, what was going on in that house? I don't know."
